Hello!
For Starters, this blog is going to be an ongoing accumulation of my thoughts and opinions about things that I encounter on a daily basis. Of course, these are not necesarily the right ones but its what I think none the less.
Now on the the topic for this week. Elevator edicate. I'm in college and I live in an 18 floor monster of a dorm building. Now granted we do have three well functioning elevators (unlike my living conditions last year) so I really shouldnt complain. But, Im going to anyway. I ride the elevator anywhere between 5 to 7 times a day, and living on the 12th floor, thats alot of elevator time every day. So, after being annoyed for the better part of two weeks I have come up with a few simple guidelines on how to make proper, polite use of an elevator.
1. DO NOT use the elevator if you are going to floors 1-5. America is fat, exercise is good for you! There is nothing worse then being in a hurry and being late because some silly little freshman decided it would be cute to take the elevator to the third floor. WALK! its not that bad a promise.
2. Dont hold the elevator for your friend for over a minute. It their fault they are late not mine. Oh yeah, and that horrible buzzing sound the elevator makes should probably clue you in that it dosent like your foot jamming to door either.
3. This last little tip works for not only elevators, but in all situations. Personal space. learn to respect it. I know that elevators are small but really, if your elbow is an inch away from my face, were going to have a problem.
Now I know that this may seem sort of conceided, but dont worry I to had to learn these lessons. Its just three simple things that will make everyones rides a whole lot nicer.
